General
As a mixed-media artist I rarely settle for working in two dimensions.
Combinations of concept, subject and material keep the work moving forward and out at an organic pace. Humor and contradictions demand attention while conceptual elements initiate and feed the work throughout its development. Each object has a meaning well beyond its commonly recognized sense; I insert various components in order to express this multiplicity. A mixed media approach is, for me, a way to assess the jumble of realities created by so many contradictions and incompatibilities – objects, people, smells, sounds, goals and desires. I cheat reality through art.
